About Alexandra Davidoff
Short Story - Outspoken. Weird. Writer. Painter. Poet. Caricature Artist of mayorgate.blogspot.com. 100% self taught, continually experimenting with coloured pencils, digital paint, and good old traditional canvas/acrylic. Lover of art, fashion, innovation and frogs. Illustrator of "Harri & Luna" now available in paperback (http://amzn.to/TTi08y) or ebook (http://amzn.to/UWKkIe).
Long Story - From the tender, immature, and curious age of 6, I've been exploring myself through art. The first people that emerged from my hands were stick people. They became my masterpieces, and my friends. With my willingness to grow and experiment, they gained weight and a recognizable anatomy. Soon enough I was drawing human faces that looked human not only to me. People outside my imaginary worlds began to take me seriously. I wasn't just doodling. I was creating. I was expressing myself, challenging myself, discovering myself.
I'm 20 now. Art completes me. I've discovered that through art, I can project and promote statements no complex string of words can fully explain. Through art, I can challenge others to think past the haze of fear. As caricature artist of http://mayorgate.blogspot.com/ I've learnt that if you know how to draw, you do not have to speak in order to be heard. An evocative image lasts longer than a soapbox speech.
They say an image is worth a thousand words. I say that's low-balling it.
