Sometimes I get struck with an idea and have to put pen to paper or my mind will be taken over by this new brilliant baby. This painting came along just like that. I was in the middle of doing something completely opposite and slightly tedious when I had the spark of an idea -it took refuge on an orange post-it for the time being, until now. I love skeletons, bones, dinosaurs and of course beautiful people, so why not combine them all??
At the end of each month, I donate a portion of the proceeds from my art to the International Child Art Foundation.
ICAF's interventions remediate suffering (Healing Arts), reduce violence (Peace through Art), grow imagination (Arts Olympiad), and develop empathy (World Children's Festival).
Having faced my own pressures to ignore my creative side in favor of a more "realistic" path, I understand the importance of nurturing every child's individual talents to live a more abundant life.
Pencil, ink, watercolor.
