Thanks to you all, the reason for the gnome was to cover up the construction tarp on the building, I guess I did not see the reno going on in the background and in my haste to take the photo and not miss too much of the tour! lol :)

I often go past this place in S.Marco but I never noticed any gnomes lurking around... lucky Bruce!! Wonderful capture by the way!

Yep, I was lucky lol, What a beautiful place, Angelo you are blessed to spend time there! The gnome popped up in time to cover the renovation tarp, magic little guy he is! it was a privilege to spend time there! excellent coffee......
