Here's the story. HUMAN NATURE basically started with an aversion I had to all things "the body" since I was a child. The sight of blood or a scratch or the sound of someone popping their fingers made me very faint. There were actually instances where I literally fell unconscious while visiting the doctor, getting blood drawn, etc. It was something I gradually grew less sensitive to as I got older, but it still made me uneasy. Now, in my 20s and freshly Catholic, I started to understand that it wasn't the actual body I feared, but my mortality. Yes, our bodies are temporary, but they are the bodies we were given. Our fragility - our lives - are delicate. Just like flowers. Incredibly delicate, incredibly beautiful, and come with an expiration date - without lacking purpose in the least.
