Yael. 2012. New York & Israel. Pen. A heroine from the bible, her name is seen in the piece’s characters. Visible is the lower portion of the Hebrew letter "ע", which looks similar to the English letter "y", but this piece uses the Hebrew script form, which has a different appearance and is pronounced "eye-an", depending on the Hebrew word it's used in, and means 'EYE' in Hebrew. Sometimes silent, sometimes intensely present, the letter is representative of the woman it was drawn for, my wife Yael.
