This contemporary piece was the third image in the "Beyond Abstraction: Clouds" series. During a visit to Washington, DC, I was attempting to take a photo of the dome of the Capital Building. While I was taking the photo, the interesting cloud patterns in the sky distracted me from the beauty of the architecture. I again focused the painting on the simplified, clean shapes of values in the clouds. I chose variations of aquas and browns in order to create interest. Because of the many different shapes in my "Beyond Abstraction" paintings, I often receive several comments about what each viewer “sees” in the paintings.
