My toddler must have been a cowgirl in a former life - animals adore her - they flock to the front of their corrals when she arrives. I am sure it has nothing to do with the carrots & sugar cubes she carries.
There is a horse rescue/ boarding facility near us. We found it quite by accident. After a few visits to see the horses, we were invited in to pet the animals. Soon we were making weekly trips & bringing lots of treats with us. The staff got to know us (as did the animals) and we now are allowed to come visit anytime!
My daughter climbs the fence all by herself. Waits at the top for me to pull her over and set her down. Then she gets all her treats ready. It's all quite exciting.
I shot this as she climbed the fence, at sunset, anxious to get over the top to go see her favorite horse, Mei Mei, a little Shetland who she can see eye-to-eye with.
