This is graphite on paper, and I just can't get a photo that doesn't have a cast on it. So thought I'd put it up as a post. I've got a new scanner coming shortly, and then I'll get a decent scan of it. The flowers are our native climber Clematis paniculata - much depleted now we have introduced opossums chomping on our forests.

Yes, Ana - do a Google image search and you will find heaps. They have great cascades of whirling seed heads when the flowers die off.

lovely !

If you get one Ana, they like their roots shaded and their tops in the sunshine. (As if growing in a forest). They need rich, well-draining soil, with peat moss and fine scoria. Mulch to conserve moisture but they don't like waterlogged feet - hence the drainage. The Maori name 'Puawhananga' means 'sacred flower'.
