Many thanks everyone for your wonderful comments. This was a fun one to play with as I suspected colors were buried within this particular flower that simply needed to be brought forth. It had a slick waxy texture which helped to promote a glassy appearance.

Many thanks Sierra. I'm glad you enjoyed this capture. For the most part, the foundation for the colors was already there in the flower and it had a translucent texture to it. However, running it though some of the PhotoShop filters from Topaz Labs elevated everything to higher levels. I wish I could recall what settings I used but Topaz Adjust is worth its weight in gold if you are interested in a 3rd party plugin filter for PhotoShop that makes pictures pop. :)

Many thanks Joan. Your description here echoes my personal thoughts here as the transluscent almost glass or plastic like appearance here is what drew me in to photograph this flower.
