On the dawn of April 4th, 1461 a multitude of people in Nuremberg, Germany claimed to have witnessed what appeared to be a battle in the skies above the city. This series of paintings are my understanding of that event.
Each edition is of the aerial battle seen from a different entrance to the city. Nuremberg is a walled in city with a moat and multiple towers all the way around it. The castle within the city walls is the Kaiserberg, or Imperial Castle.
