It’s the end of an era in the Missouri River Bottoms in Kansas City...for generations the ConAgra grain elevators were busy with commerce, with multiple tracks leading to and from these tall towers. Midwestern grain flowed here in endless boxcars, to be stored and sold and shipped again.
Now the real estate is too valuable and the elevators are being dismantled. I parked illegally to have the chance to sketch the end of their useful life. At this writing only a pile of rubble remains."
