Mark, this is terrific. The subject offers so many intriguing variations on a theme. I seem to recall that you previously posted some background on the sculpture. I'll see if I can find it.
This is so awesome, Mark! I love how the line between water & sky is blurred.... seems like heaven & earth are one. beautiful composition! And as Geoffrey said, it reminds me too of one of your earlier images....

Thanks everyone! Geoffrey - It's one of the sculptures from Anthony Gormley's 'Another Place' installation on Crosby beach, Merseyside nr Liverpool. There are hundreds of metal men staggered along the shoreline - some are always out of the water, some are under water for most of the day and only revealed at low tide (such as this one). They all look out to sea. You are right, I have photographed this location many times but the other photographs have been traditional landscapes; this is a conscious effort to do something a bit more ethereal with the processing.
Wow... I stared at the zoomed version. What a mood you have captured in this image! I am already imagining, a story forming in my head.... should he stay or should he move forward into the unknown? What mysteries lie ahead? Great piece, Mark.
