I first became interested in colony collapse disorder when i read a random article about it back in 2006. soon after that article i read a quote of Albert Einstein's ; that stated when the last bee dies, nature has four years. ...!
So i became somewhat obsessed in finding everything out that i could about this natural disaster. And in the process learning about bees, their behaviors, and the societal structures. For the first year there wasnt a lot to read about CCD, but in the past year there has been an explosion of information and media press about it. This is a struggle that has epic consequences for us. We have a vested interest in the Bees succeeding.
There is still debate about that is causing these mass die offs, but it seems clear that systemic pesticides are to blame. Sadly, as is the situation with peak Oil, we are a creature that likes to talk and are slow in action unless disaster is eminent. I hope we can get our act together and make right that which we have wronged. Despite our feelings of superiority, we are all in this together.
