Photoshop CS6: The First 48 Hours
Photoshop CS6 is out, and I'm a happy boy. Here are some screen grabs showing 2 new pieces I'm working on using the extended version.
Check out those new brushes!

yeah it's pretty sweet. I've been using Beta for month now.

The final version seems even more polished, Denis.

Thanks Meg!

..well...beta is free (for now)... so must wait for that paycheck :)
Andre Villanueva commented on May 20, 2012 8:20am
I hear you. I had to plead for approval before handing over a grand for the extended version : )

: )
Denis Stritar commented on May 23, 2012 11:53am
...oh, what I really like on CS6 is a consistent window on MAC. CS5 had the old school look w/o the backdrop, if you know what I mean.
Andre Villanueva commented on May 23, 2012 8:30pm
Hey Denis, thanks for commenting. I think you're referring to the application frame -- it was actually introduced in CS4 for the Mac (Window>Application Frame). I actually like it without that Windows-like background because I'm always fiddling with stuff on the desktop.
Denis Stritar commented on May 24, 2012 5:24am
...oh man I feel stupid...I really didn't know that option existed.
Andre Villanueva commented on May 24, 2012 10:09am
No worries : ) This isn't a highly publicized feature.

Any chance of a copy.........LOL
Andre Villanueva commented on May 25, 2012 10:14am
Haha... Yeah, this software is EXPENSIVE :( But I can't live without it...
Catspaws commented on May 31, 2012 6:57am
that is so clever

At least in the U.S. it's actually quite affordable now thanks to Adobe Cloud! $49.99/mo. as a lease and you get almost every app in Adobe's arsenal! You can install on 2 computers too, say a desktop and laptop for example. Previous Creative Suite owners can qualify for a discount at $29.99/mo. for the first year if they sign up for the annual contract! And leasing does not sound so bad since the software continues to update almost annually. Welcome to the CS6 users group Andre!

Here's a link to Adobe's special offer. https://creativecloud-specialoffer.ad...?loc=en_US
I do not work for Adobe, by the way, but just want to share with everyone such an awesome deal!
Andre Villanueva commented on June 13, 2012 10:31am
Thanks for the info, Terry. Sounds like a good deal. The only CS component I really use if Photoshop. I can stand to keep the older versions of Illustrator, InDesign, etc...
tscreative commented on June 14, 2012 7:41pm
You're very welcome Andre! Photoshop is one of my primary apps too, but being a full-time Graphic Designer & Motion Graphics Artist in the commercial world, I use a lot of the Adobe apps, especially Illustrator since I do a lot of typography work (either for print, web, or motion). Take care, I so look forward to reading your future articles!
Andre Villanueva commented on June 15, 2012 10:27am
Thanks Terry! For some reason, Illustrator gives me problems. I'm always trying to do "Photoshop" stuff while I'm in it... I might need some lessons from you : ) Let me know what you think about my Photoshop Creative articles. I hope to have a big, multi-page tutorial in each issue, plus some minor bits and answers to reader questions.
