The Wattle Mud Wall

by AngelaLau

Stretched Canvas

DESCRIPTION

Fine art print on bright white, fine poly-cotton blend, matte canvas using latest generation Epson archival inks. Individually trimmed and hand stretched museum wrap over 1-1/2" deep wood stretcher bars. Includes wall hanging hardware.

This little boy poses in front of his house for me. The walls are made by a technique called Wattling where they pack mud, rocks between beams to make a sturdy standing structure. These walls take a long time to construct and are considered higher end (obviously not to cement but definitely more cost effective).

Photo taken in San Esteban Catarina, El Salvador.
