My cover illustration for Zach Lucero's solo album.

I wanted to create something that spoke with a similar tone as the songs: melancholic lyrics coupled with upbeat, pop sensibilities. Here is an image of the character I envisioned who is trying to keep afloat over colorful paper airplanes that failed to launch; an ominous mist creeping around him. The grid floor presents the vast space of that world and how daunting, and infinite the possibilities may be for this character.
