"The Blood & Sap Beneath Me"

by Blaine Fontana

Stretched Canvas

DESCRIPTION

Fine art print on bright white, fine poly-cotton blend, matte canvas using latest generation Epson archival inks. Individually trimmed and hand stretched museum wrap over 1-1/2" deep wood stretcher bars. Includes wall hanging hardware.

This is my second time around the block living here in Portland,OR. It was spread apart by decade. Like before, its a breathtaking city seeing all the trees, and sharing the love and respect for wood many individuals have here. Oregon is one of the biggest timber industries in the country and one of Portlands monikers is "stumptown". My love for wood and the historical nickname that was established a century ago is what inspired this print. In the early 1900's you could only see stumps for miles around the burgeoning city after it had been established.

Beautiful! I love the three tone colour and the graphic appeal to this. The drips look so fresh. And the wood piece at the top is a perfect design element.

Is it graph paper mounted to wood with silk screening? The coolest thing ever!
