With melting wax and feathers brown
He tasted it on his way down
but these feathers are blue...because I came upon a pile of blue jay feathers while raking autumn leaves last year. I washed them and have kept them in a nest I found a few years earlier. I recently photographed a few and painstakingly liberated them from their background.
