this is the second piece for the "Line Weight" show at Nucleus gallery, it was inspired by the magicicada's of north America, who gestate underground for 13 to 17 years, then emerge for a few brief weeks at the end of summer to sing and attract mates. The title comes from the greek myth of Tithonus, who was granted immortality, but not eternal youth, and was transformed into a cicada. the original piece is 10" by 12", ballpoint pen, micron pen and watercolor on paper
