This photo is of an old, broken down truck I saw in an open garage up in New Hampshire. It is a Lloyd LT 600 pick up truck (2 cylinder, 4 stroke, 596 cc engine), built sometime between 1955 and 1961. The plate signifies that this was still being used, as a commercial vehicle, as of 1969, many years after the company was liquidated.
According to a few sites, there was a saying “"Wer den Tod nicht scheut, fährt Lloyd", translating to "He who is not afraid of death, drives a Lloyd".
