Swans and Cygnets

DESCRIPTION

Collect your choice of gallery quality Giclée, or fine art prints custom trimmed by hand in a variety of sizes with a white border for framing.

A few miles from me, along the Charles River here in MA (this photo was taken near the border of South Natick and Serborn), a pair of swans made their nest with about a half dozen swan chicks very near the road. Cygnets (baby swans) does not seem to be a fitting word for them, since I keep seeing the word "cyborg" and these are much more cute! Now, to get this shot I used my longest lens at full zoom, so they are probably about 20 or 30 yards away from any traffic, in this kind of gross swamp lands. I love how this series came out and hopefully we'll continue to see the babies as they grow up!

Thank you! I'm glad the swampy background didn't detract too much from the cute and graceful birds.

Christopher, I photographed that same swan when she was sitting on her nest. I thought the contrast between the beauty of the swan and that ugly backdrop was wonderful.

Wow, that funny! It's a great spot for people to observe them from pretty close. Thanks for the comment, Karen!
