William Munny and his Wife

by Christopher Richards

Framed Art Print

DESCRIPTION

Choose from a variety of frame styles, colors and sizes to compliment your favorite Society6 gallery, or fine art print - made ready to hang. Fine-crafted from solid woods, premium shatterproof acrylic protects the face of the art print, while an acid free dust cover on the back provides a custom finish. All framed art prints include wall hanging hardware.

This is a digital painting of William Munny at his home, from the film "Unforgiven" (1992), starring Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Gene Hackman, and Richard Harris. It's a great film that everyone should see, even if you aren't a big fan of westerns.

This painting is from the ending, but it opens and closes on images of the main character's house at sunset with some text over it. Here's a quick quote from the beginning of the film, to give a sense of what the main character is like:

-----

She was a comely young woman
and not without prospects.
Therefore it was heartbreaking
to her mother that she would
enter into marriage with
William Munny, a known thief
and murderer, a man of
notoriously vicious and
intemperate disposition.

When she died, it was not at
his hands as her mother might
have expected, but of small pox.
That was 1878.

-----

This image was made using my drawing tablet, and the program Art Rage 3. When you look closely, you can see the specific brush strokes and a realistic look of it being oil painted on canvas. Though I can't say exactly, it would probably look extra great printed on stretched canvas.

Enjoy!

Thanks, though it's actually a painting, not a photo.

Thank you all very much! I really like how it came out, but you've never quite sure how others will like something like this, so I'm glad to see so many positive comments! Thanks!

Hi Hive! I love "The Assassination of Jesse James..." and I'm actually (slowly) working on a painting based on that one. Thanks for the kind words!
