This piece, like most of my work, started out completely different. This was the painting that had a very large circle in the middle of it with some other abstract shapes and followed really closely with a sketch that I made. For the longest time it was in the "I think that I need a bit more details and I'm done stage". However, after a week or two of staring at the work, it was more at the stage of "I hate this piece!" which gave me the freedom to do whatever the heck I wanted with it. It was quite liberating and it gave me the opportunity to try something new with stencils and allowing the "underpainting" to show through a bit. I hope that this style is the start of a new direction as I feel that the majority of my work is leaning towards something like this. Or more precisely, I feel that my work is going towards this type of styling.
