This was an interesting journey to complete. I actually laid the groundwork for this piece about 3 years ago. I've been working on and off it since then. This had no real direction for the longest time, I just built up textures here and there from excess paint from other paintings during that time. It wasn't until a couple of months ago that I actually wanted to do something with this and took it in a direction instead of meandering and hoping it would come together.
Unfortunately, there is no real mechanism for the clock parts, I'm not skilled in that arena nor do I want to go in that direction. However, part of me wonders if this piece would make a good looking clock. It's also at an impossible time, which I think is great. :-]
Mixed media on board.
6" x 16"
I used acrylic, water mixable oil paint, paper, wood veneer, gears and clock parts.
