We're very excited to see all the great work being posted in the "Portland" Studio. Preparations are under way for the March 6th show at 19TEN Gallery in NE Portland.

Much thanks to all the artists who are participating, Mark Searcy for curating and to Blaine Fontana for helping us get set up over at 19TEN. Also thanks to our friends at Plywerk for mounting a few of the prints on their finest bamboo Plywerk and to Pinball Publishing for creating some scout books for the occasion.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone who lives in the Portland area (and beyond). This is not just an art show or a print showcase, but a chance for us to meet up and share a few tasty microbrews.

Hey everyone, just giving you a heads up that Mark and I are beginning the curation process for the Portland Prints. We're aiming to include around 15 artists in the collection. Please stay tuned and we will follow with you directly with more details. Happy turkey day!

Let's get started! Share your ideas, links, and inspiration about Portland as comments to this post, so we can create a Portland fact/inspiration hub.

Here's some to start with:
- Portland got its name by a coin toss. It was a "toss-up" between Boston and Portland.
- Portland is the bike-mecca of the US
- Portland has tons of nicknames. Stumptown, Bridgetown, Rose City, City of Roses, etc.
- People love their coffee in Portland
- Hipsters!
- Lewis & Clark
- The Willamette and the Columbia River
- The Columbia River Gorge
- All the Parks within the city limits!!
- Public Transit
- All them parades in June
- It rains a lot in the winters
- Many of the characters in the Simpsons are named after streets in Portland

The goal of this project is to create an inspired collection of art prints based on Portland Oregon. We're starting with Portland and want to carry this idea out to all major cities in the world. More details to follow regarding selection and next steps.
