Roger Corman & Edgar Allen Poe. Water-mixable oil paint on canvas, 53" x 30", 2007. Corman was responsible for adapting many of Poe's works into feature-length films. Oftentimes, Corman would only need a couple weeks to shoot these amazing films and a couple months total to complete an entire production. The content and style of this painting is an homage to Corman's approach to Poe's work, which could be defined as a mixture of haphazard improvisation, highly original innovation, and genius creativity. This painting was one of the last works I completed as an undergrad at the University of Kentucky.
