This was taken around midnight just outside the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, in an area called Monument Pass. This particular formation is referred to as the “Saddleback Mesa,” not to be confused with the Saddleback Butte near Joshua Tree National Park in California. This image was featured as the cover of my first self-published book, "Open Range: From Monument Valley to the Mojave Desert."
