This watercolor painting was inspired by my travels in Iceland. While driving the ring road that loops the country, I came across fields of clumpy, spongy moss growing wild on steaming hot, black, volcanic rock formations. Small flowers and odd little berries could be found at random, as well as deep crevasses. The moss was so fluffy I was able to literally bounce from clump to clump like an character in a video game. When I laid down to rest, the moss enveloped me like a foam mattress. It was amazing.
