When your book comes out, Heather, I'll look forward to your writing and art in equal measure.

You tapped into my childhood driven fear of needles:) But, I always enjoy your work. I wish I could work in black and white/cream. I try every now and then, but it's difficult ... you need to be sure of your concept. With color I can forego that. Anyway, great piece as always and I particularly like it unfettered as a stretched canvas, case and skin :)

That's beautiful. Really loving your work.

A feeling rises right away, when seeing this Heather! Crushed at first, relieved after a while I guess... Great piece!
Jardley Jean-Louis commented on October 19, 2011 12:12pm
Wow, I think this is my favorite one yet. Idk if this was on purpose but the things on the bottom look like violins. Or a progression into a violin. And I like that. Heather you have a book coming out? What what.
Heather Goodwind commented on October 19, 2011 12:43pm
Wow, thanks everyone for all the nice comments! Angela - I'm with you on the needles (shiver) and that's so funny that you think working in black and white is harder than using color - I feel exactly the opposite! And though I think the stretched canvases are cool I have to admit that I'm a little worried about someone ordering one without realizing that most of my pieces have rounded corners, I wish I could put in a warning or turn that option off or at least prepare a different cropped file for it. Efi -as flattering as it is to have elicited a strong emotional response, I'm glad the relief came along too, I'd really hate to have crushed you! Jardley - what an interesting interpretation a progression into a violin is - I never thought of that but I like it too, thanks! And I'm sorry to say that there's no book coming out, that was just Geoffrey starting rumors :)

NO BOOK!? haha Geoffrey got me. oh well. Awesome piece, Heather. Thought provoking, as always.
Geoffrey Agrons commented on October 19, 2011 6:00pm
Sorry, didn't mean to mislead. A prediction, not a rumor (as in "when your book is inevitably published").
Olga Hutsul commented on October 20, 2011 5:49am
Outstanding concept!
Heather Goodwind commented on October 20, 2011 11:33am
Geoffrey - I read your comment as exactly that, a nice compliment in the form of a prediction as well, I should have realized from Will and Deepti's comments that people were taking it literally and said something earlier. Will - I think that yours is the only book we are all waiting on at the moment. Mkaisth and Olga - thank you for your lovely comments, I really appreciate it!

Hi Heather, nice work. Although Freud may have wanted to ask me some questions about what I thought to see. And from the perspective of a woman and given her title for this work it hasn't convinced me in thinking otherwise yet. ;-)
Heather Goodwind commented on November 16, 2011 11:32am
Thank you Joseph, I'm glad you like the work and yes, I'm sure that Freud would have plenty to ask about it - and what it is (or isn't) saying about me. :)
Heather Goodwind commented on November 16, 2011 11:32am
And thank you Raül!
