I love photographing wildlife like this... it's not always easy. I'm amazed that he stands out so bright among his surroundings... so unlike most species that want to blend in. They are such patient hunters. I saw one a couple of summers ago catch a fish and tried over and over to get it vertically in its bill so it could swallow it. But it was stuck horizontally. I used up a lot of video footage taping him with that fish! LOL!

haha, I know what you mean Tracey, I took tons of pics this day and really only got about 10 good ones! I spotted this bird so far back in the swamp but he looked so beautiful and peaceful in his surroundings. I could watch them for hours, I have another image from this day of a bird picking a shrimp right out of the water, I have to post it, it was awesome to watch. I never really photographed the Everglades and I live so close to it, I've started to really take more pride in where I grew up and I'm glad I get to show others how beautiful it really is down here.
