"Magnifying War"

by James Penfield

iPhone & iPod Skin

$15.00

Skins are thin, easy-to-remove, vinyl decals for customizing your device. Skins are made from a patented material that eliminates air bubbles and wrinkles for easy application.

All these works play off of analog TV aesthetics, which I realize now are literally fading away with time and plasmas. We're embedded with these sets of media created images through out absorption of them, through the medium of the TV. I seek to alter this meaning, as the media alters the meaning of these objects.

This work investigates how imagery and meaning are created in the digital age. It magnifies what an image is composed of, digitally. You can see all our meaning is comprised of, is interpreting colored pixels.

Digital print on watercolor paper. 2012.
