Erosion & Typography 4

by Jason Permenter

Throw Pillow

DESCRIPTION

Throw Pillow made from 100% spun polyester poplin fabric, a stylish statement that will liven up any room. Individually cut and sewn by hand, each pillow features a double-sided print and is finished with a concealed zipper for ease of care. Sold with or without faux down pillow insert.

Why? I'm a geologist turned designer, so it only made sense to combine both worlds. This print is fourth in a series of four, each of which explores the effects of erosion and weathering on the printed word.

The text itself is taken from a 1971 essay on experimental typography by the German designer and typographer Wolfgang Weingart, and is set in the Univers typeface. Univers was designed from 1954-57 by Adrian Frutiger, and is completely bad-ass.

Unfortunately I can't zoom in enough to see the details; perhaps you could create a post with some cropped enlargements? Either way from what I can see, they look great! :)
