Thanks everyone for the comments! Will - I used acrylic paint and a few brushes and I also dabbed the sides of mat board with paint, which helped me apply some of the vertical and horizontal lines. I also went to work with my palette knife. Lyrics from the song were printed out on paper and glued on with some matte medium, water and paint.
