Tlingit lore tells the story of Raven the Trickster stealing from a great chief. Many Alaska Native tribes have variations of this story. This image is my vision of Raven, scattering his gleaming star across the night sky.

I love your work, may I ask, are you Tlingit, yourself? I am Ktunaxa, and love supporting Indigenous artists.

Angela, my genetic background is Ute (though I have know little of that culture) & Swedish. I was raised in Tlingit villages & studied North West Coast art with the elders. I was adopted Xixch'adi (Raven-Frog from Kake) and continue to honor my adopted culture and family. The Raven series are illustrations from a project I am working on with my dad.
