Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 7:08am
Hello Geoffrey! Strangely enough, I'm never aware of the symbolism in my pictures ;-) I always like it when other people explain it to me :-D Thanks for the comment!
Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 7:09am
Great to see you, Trudy and Catherine, and thanks ever so much for your great comments! So happy you appreciate all my little details!
Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 7:16am
I'm really happy you like it, Tammy! Thanks!!!
Geoffrey Agrons commented on September 17, 2012 7:18am
Then that makes your work all the more fascinating. Someone someday will do their doctoral thesis on the semiotics of Clay, but not me. I still need a weatherman to know the way the wind blows.
Sharon Johnstone commented on September 17, 2012 7:18am
Wow, your work is so beautiful Judith!!!
Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 7:21am
@Geoffrey: oh, thanks so much for saying that. I feel much better now. I thought it meant that I'm stupid ;-)
Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 7:22am
Dear Sharon: I really appreciate your kind words! Thanks so much!
Jacqueline Maldonado commented on September 17, 2012 7:27am
Absolutely gorgeous work, Judith! I love the red of her coat against the cool tones. The mood is palpable... so moving. The raindrops just send this piece over the top. I am in awe.
Geoffrey Agrons commented on September 17, 2012 7:28am
I was just biding time until Jacqueline weighed in so I could write "what she said!"
Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 7:30am
So happy you like the red, Jacqueline! That's my newest pastel stick acquisition and I can't get enough of it. I did the raindrops with white ink and a brush, an experiment from a while back. Thanks for the lovely feedback!
Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 7:31am
You are the greatest, Geoffrey!!! :-D
Angela Bruno commented on September 17, 2012 7:34am
Jacqueline Maldonado commented on September 17, 2012 7:36am
:) @ Geoffrey. I could really write at length about Judith's work . I see so much meaning in each piece and it is such a joyful challenge to (attempt to) interpret it.
Jacqueline Maldonado commented on September 17, 2012 7:37am
And thanks, for sharing the raindrop technique - I was trying to figure out how you managed to do that!
Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 7:38am
ingz commented on September 17, 2012 7:40am

Erinnert mich irgendwie an einen herbstlichen Tag im Hamburger Hafen. Sehr schöööön! Liebe Grüße!
Geoffrey Agrons commented on September 17, 2012 8:04am
@Jacqueline, I completely agree and I look forward to reading more from you on that score. No need to involve that pesky Freud with all his hang-ups and wild theories. I only wish my dreams looked as gorgeous as Judith's work.
Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 8:04am
Na das freut mich aber, Steffi! Am Hamburger Hafen war ich auch schon mal, und da war es sehr schön! Liebe Grüße auch an Dich!
Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 8:06am
@Geoffrey and Jacqueline: I guess I'll just lean back, put up my feet and wait for that 500 page thesis on my work written by Jacqueline and approved by Geoffrey :-D
Megstuff commented on September 17, 2012 8:20am
First of all Judith, this is gorgeous! I too love the red coat and the rain! Oh, and the fish! Did anyone mention the fish yet? I'll bet that's symbolic of "plenty". So she's going on a long voyage, but will not be hungry while she travels or when she gets there. (My daughter just walked in and happily recognized your work from the ones I just framed btw. Recognition is high praise from a young teen.) Seriously, it's all been said beautifully, so I'll just add that I love it!
Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 8:29am
Hey, Meg! Really great to see you, and thanks for taking the time to write such a great comment! I figured you'd like the fish ;-) And I like your interpretation... and wow on the recognition compliment from your daughter!!! That means a lot! Wish you a great week!

Judith Clay commented on September 17, 2012 9:06am
Yes, Iris, I think you are! But that's okay; I love your idea! She's down at the harbor to let the fish go :-D So happy you like the picture, Iris!

Judith Clay commented on February 4, 2014 9:42am
Hello oana123, and thanks for the lovely comment. Yes, I do sell originals. Are you interested in a specific one?
oana123 commented on February 4, 2014 9:45am
Oh, this is really exciting! Yes, I am interested especially in this one (At the harbor), also The White Duck, and The little mermaid (1).
Judith Clay commented on February 4, 2014 9:57am
The original of At the Harbor has already been sold. The Little Mermaid is still at an exhibit in Estonia, but will come back to me sometime in February. The White Duck I have available and at my home right now.
