I love this!
Geoffrey Agrons commented on March 6, 2012 7:30am
Momentarily setting aside discussion of the great design elements, Judith, your color palette is always exquisite. That gold 'n gray 'n green with the solitary brick red in the castle: sweet. A sense of longing for the next horizon permeates your work, perhaps because you have lived in many different places on this planet. Then again, I could be wrong.
Judith Clay commented on March 6, 2012 7:37am
@Frances&Antoinette: thanks so much for the nice comment!
Judith Clay commented on March 6, 2012 7:41am
@Geoffrey: no, actually, you're absolutely right! As we speak, I'm preparing for yet another move (this time within the same city). I'm thrilled that you like my colors. I suddenly wanted to do something with yellow, a color I don't often use, and now I'm really glad that I did. About the "castle": it's supposed to be lighthouses (I guess they're a little too small to be recognized as such). I really appreciate your thoughtful comment, Geoffrey!
Geoffrey Agrons commented on March 6, 2012 7:43am
Of course, I see now that they're lighthouses!
Geoffrey Agrons commented on March 6, 2012 7:44am
And all the best with your move.
Judith Clay commented on March 6, 2012 7:46am
Thanks so much, dear Geoffrey (needless to say, I HATE moves ;-)

Gorgeous! Beautiful silver/grays and yellows/golds. Perfect colors.
Tracey Tilson Photography commented on March 9, 2012 4:52pm
I'm sorry all I did before was promote and neglected to comment. It's been a crazy week, forgive me.
So here I am again... and marveling at your handiwork in this image. I love the geese and the little boats and the lighthouses for a hat. You are always to imaginative and creative... and oh, so talented. I have no drawing skills whatsoever, unless I see an image and try over and over and over to recreate it, it. I am going to post a funny something on your FB page that pretty much sums up my frustration as an illustrator :-)
Thank you, as always for your lovely comments on my images, Judith :-) I hope you have a most wonderful weekend ♥
Judith Clay commented on March 9, 2012 11:31pm
Dear Tracey, you are too kind!!! Thanks so very much for your lovely, sweet comment. It really means a lot to me. Please, don't worry about sometimes not commenting. I think most of us have busy lives, and we all understand :-) I had a good laugh at the drawing you posted on facebook!!! I'll let you in on a secret: I have drawers full of terrible drawings. I kept them just to remind me what a long way it is and how much it takes to become an artist. Thanks so much for coming by, Tracey, and have a wonderful weekend, too!

"...really haunting in a sweet way"-that's so very well put with respect to Judith's work, if you don't mind my saying.

Judith, will you ever teach a workshop? I'd love to learn how to create such brilliant work as you do. The pattern in the yellow really caught my eye. So many terrific details!
Judith Clay commented on March 12, 2012 8:40am
Oh, Laura, thanks so much for such a lovely comment! I can't take credit for the pattern in the yellow paper. That is store-bought art paper. I just added some shading with my colored pencils. I'm thrilled you like the picture!
