Lovely. As ever. Enigmatic. As ever. Why Sunday? ;-)
Judith Clay commented on December 6, 2011 7:10am
Hello, Mark, and thanks so much for coming by and for the comment! Why Sunday? Because that's the day when all the stores are closed in Germany, and people would have time to go to the zoo :-)

Efi Tolia commented on December 6, 2011 10:49am
It's nice to see you again! May I say, that this is stunning work, as usual... I love your interpretation on the subject. I was wondering if anyone would draw something about us and animals (or at least pets), and here you go! I should have expected that from you, all the lovely cats and birds you include in your drawings... As I said, it's wonderful! Good luck, Judith!
Judith Clay commented on December 6, 2011 11:27am
Thank you so much, Efi, for this lovely comment. Although I'm showing people and animals in my picture, I'm trying to make a point about people and how we tend to see what sets us apart (different culture, skin color, language, ethnicity)--us versus "them"--and overlook that there are always also similarities (symbolized in my picture by all the characters/animals having long necks). I hope that comes across. Good luck to you, too!

Hello, my lovely friend! Judith! this story is one from your worlds - I feel superphysical ability in this world, like interesting wind and gravitation :)))) I feel quiet, calmness in this place and kind story about girl and her pets in Magic Zoo :)))))) lantern looks like a man in hat! :D
Super-wonderful picture, Judith!!!! You are amazing!

Big HUG!
Tracey Tilson Photography commented on December 7, 2011 3:33am
Whimsy and wonderful! I'm going to enjoy your images, I can see that already!
Mark Nelson commented on December 7, 2011 3:54am
Stores close on a Sunday in Germany? If only that were still the case here in the UK. I actually live next to one of the biggest zoos in Europe (Chester) so quite often find myself there on a Sunday. As someone that cannot draw, your illustrations always blow me away Judith. You should put them in a book
Judith Clay commented on December 7, 2011 6:01am
@Mark: Yes, believe or not, stores are closed on Sundays in Germany! There have been efforts to change that, but with little success. It would be great to live nextdoor to a big zoo. All those animals to use as models ;-) Thanks so much for your kind compliment! I can draw, but I can't take a good photograph. So, we're even!
Judith Clay commented on December 7, 2011 6:05am
@Ira: Thanks, dear Ira, for your wonderful comment! I'm happy to read your words, because you always see the story in my pictures, and feel the feelings I put into them! I love how you see the lantern as a man with a hat. What a wonderful thought! Big hug to you, too!!
Judith Clay commented on December 7, 2011 6:06am
@Tracey: Thanks for this lovely comment. Hope to see you again!

Hello Elle, and thank you, thank you, thank you! So happy that you like it!
Tracey Tilson Photography commented on December 8, 2011 7:05am
You have such an amazing style, Judith. This is such a delightful image... I love how the flamingo has turned back to look at the girl... perhaps seeking approval to move forward along the path? The giraffe's expression is wonderful... Outstanding work, as always.
Judith Clay commented on December 8, 2011 10:14am
Thanks, thanks, thanks for this lovely comment, Tracey! I love it that you spin your own story around the picture. That's always what I would hope for. Thanks for coming by.

Judith Clay commented on January 15, 2012 9:18am
Thanks so much for your nice comment, eleanorrigby236. I'm very happy that you like my work. And no, I don't have a picture book. Kind of gave up on that idea. No publisher interest. I think I prefer to do my own thing anyway. Thanks for stopping by!
