thanks everyone wow!
@Balazs: yes traditional painting, that's what I do now the last 4 years, , after a fulltime-job in graphic design & illustration
and @Geoffrey: brushstrokes yes!!!! that's always my last finishing touch ;-)
thanks again to everyone.
I love the detail in the shading and texture of the skin. The emotion behind those eyes just pulls the observer into another world! It takes great talent to portray such depth and backstory in a otherwise simple portrait. This is an amazing piece.
Masterful technique and looks really good cropped in like this, very intense.

thanks Brianna, Alexandra, Terry & Keren.
it was posted before this painting, but I have received new images of my photographer, in a very high resolution. so this is why you can see more depth in the face of this portrait, like it actually is in real. this original painting is already sold and I am very thankful to the buyer to return it for a copple of days so the photographer could do her work (I can not take pictures of such a large work with my own camera..), so I am very pleased with this new results. this picture is a detail-photograph of the large painting "shiver" that I have re-uploaded in the original post, please look also at this "old" post, "shiver".
Lovely piece, Karien!~ Such wonderful skin tones. I think that (secretly, of course) you've found the original Master's Palette! ;) Keep it up because you're work is stunning~
