This poster is illustration of Goran kissing Wimbledon trophy. This was Ivanišević's fourth Wimbledon final and he became the first wildcard, the first Croatian and the lowest ranked player (125th) in history to claim the Wimbledon title. The phrase Fala kurcu! is not so nice, but it's a typical Croatian saying, and Goran said that after his only win in 4 final attempts.
Goran Ivanišević defeated Patrick Rafter 6-3 3-6 6-3 2-6 9-7 in the final to win the Gentlemen's Singles title at the 2001 Wimbledon Championships. In doing so, he became the first wild card to win a major. The win was especially satisfying for Ivanišević, as he had made the finals three times before (in 1992, 1994 and 1998) but lost each (to Agassi, and Sampras twice, respectively).
In front of the most raucous crowd a Wimbledon final has ever seen, the players delivered a wonderful see-saw battle. Inspired winners mixed with nerve-shredded errors to a backdrop of football-style chants and cheers on every point.
"I don't know if someone is going to wake me up and tell me I haven't won again," said an emotional Ivanisevic afterwards.
"This was my dream all my life. I came here and nobody thought about me, but here I am holding the trophy."
