The Dolma La or Tara Pass on Mount Kailash in Tibet is known as the Roof of the World. It is the highest peak one can reach on the sacred mountain. In 2012, ice and snow made for a treacherous descent from the Dolma La as pilgrims continued walking the 32-mile circuit -- or Kora -- of the mountain. The walk is said to speed up one's personal evolution. This mound of prayer flags was the epicenter of activity of Buddhists, Hindus, Bons and Jains, all there during the Saga Dawa in early June of 2012.
