About Melanie Coutavas
MELANIE COUTAVAS is a exciting new face to the illustration world. After graduating from the School Of Visual Arts in 2011 Melanie has curated a group showcase called “The Girls In The Basement”, and has been featured in a variety of group shows in the Bronx, and Brooklyn. She looks up to artists, such as Brian Froud, H.R Giger, and Alphonse Mucha. While drawing other ideas and creative juices from Moroccan, Celtic and Indian cultures. Melanie’s work takes a look at the daunting things in life, and expresses it in a whimsical, satirical way. As she has evolved as an a artist, her style has a tongue and cheek attitude, inspiring a positive outlook.
