I love the organic nature of watercolor. When I paint, I like to let them flow where they may and gently 'nudge' them into place. Thank you Judith! Thank you Sarah!
And on the S6 front page, looking ever so fine. I tried inverting the image to see if I could recapture the emotional flavor of ENTERING California, but no joy. The piece clearly operates one way.
A brief appearance - but I'll take it!! Nice to share the fp with you! Interesting idea to invert... I should try that to see what you mean. I suspect that the emotion of entering (or retuning to as the case may be) California would be a completely different painting. I guess I should also create an 'Arriving in New York' piece to show how that feels.
Thank you noblack! I am glad that you can recognize a style in my watercolors, Wayne. I do such a variety of work, I fear that nothing is recognizably mine! Thank you as always for your support!
hi Jacqueline, this is such nice work here! i love the division of the warmer and cooler colors. aside from my eyes telling this may be some kind of landscape; i think it really speaks to me about moods and how they fluctuate within us as people. it's a really interesting piece!
Thank you Allan! You are right... I often start with the premise of a landscape and use it as a guide for the structure, but then I allow my emotions to color and tell the rest of the story. My watercolors have been referred to as 'emotional landscapes.' I think it's an accurate description. Thank you for your thoughts!
Thank you Carina, Meg & Hugo!
