This morning I noticed that Zachary Huang was featured on the front page with a piece that was eerily similar to a piece I just put up just a few days ago http://society6.com/murraymullet/Snow...-IdZ_Print . As I dug in a little more I noticed that he has borrowed many ideas from many of my favorite artists and illustrators. I am sorry but I will not stand by as people make money off of other artists hard work.

Please promote this if you are with me and also I would love to know how to report this person now and people like him in the future.

Pretty terrible behaviour
Pegeen Shean commented on February 4, 2012 12:11pm
What a creep! Can Society6 pull his account? That really sucks!!
Tripp Spraker commented on February 4, 2012 12:39pm
in art coincidences happen and even sometimes your inspired by a piece to create something you believe is a completely different thought but its not as far off as you believe. But this repetition is to the point of conscious behavior and not cool. To take someone's work and makeup it up is asking for trouble.
Joe Carr commented on February 4, 2012 12:40pm
good catch
Mat Miller commented on February 4, 2012 12:44pm
It's a shame when people cannot come up with their own ideas. Good catch and I hope it is dealt with swiftly.
Ian Byers commented on February 4, 2012 1:13pm
This is enough evidence for a lifetime ban.
What an idiot.
Eric Fan commented on February 4, 2012 1:14pm
Definitely swiping other people's ideas. not cool.

even this one: http://society6.com/ZacharyHuang/Portal-p65_Print

is pretty reminiscent of Gemma Correll's print: http://society6.com/product/I-Like-You-IT_Print

Treason!
Tripp Spraker commented on February 5, 2012 1:49pm
i wish there was a date posted to compare. or is there and im just missing it. because the one raiko said compare the comments show an older date for zach. Not saying your wrong Raiko, just plain curious at this point.
RAIKO IVAN雷虎 commented on February 5, 2012 2:43pm
@Tripp true.
Zachary Huang commented on February 5, 2012 7:02pm
Sorry people, it's really shame on me. All my works which are inspired from other artists are all removed from the selling shift. In future, I will work harder to improve my idea, and check it more carefully. With my deep regret.
eQuivalent commented on February 5, 2012 8:54pm

:(
Terry Fan commented on February 6, 2012 3:25am
I agree some of these are way too close for comfort, it's good that Zachary has at least owned up to it.

Tripp Spraker - I was surprised to see a comment posted in "September 1 , 2011" on his "Falling Burger" design because that dates his image long before mine, but it doesn't mean anything because you can replace a file any time you feel like it and it doesn't necessarily even have to be the same design!

I'm glad S6 has this feature because it's really convenient if you need to replace an image if you've done any tweaks, but would also be a loophole if you were trying something sneaky.
VonFires (Adele van Vuuren) commented on February 6, 2012 5:35am
:( This is aweful :( ... One thing to be inspired by ideas ... something completely different to rip-it-off
Ian Byers commented on February 6, 2012 7:11am
Not to beat a dead horse, but he didn't really own up to anything. He said "All my works which are inspired from other artists" if he replaced inspired with stolen, that would have been an apology.
David Schwen commented on February 6, 2012 7:15am
Dang. This makes me sad.
Maria commented on February 6, 2012 11:31am
I think there is a lot of rogues like this guy, whom I want to say: people, you are Artists! so show us Your own ideas, coming from your hearts! Not from others.
Tripp Spraker commented on February 6, 2012 11:05pm
@Terry Fan- ah true. and yes i am glad that feature is there as well but your right if used wrong it would be very sneaky.

@zachary- it takes guts to own up to it and not disappear, if you try to set things right
kuli_grafis commented on February 8, 2012 4:05am
funny :)
Christopher commented on February 13, 2012 3:35am
I was going to give the guy the benefit of the doubt until seeing the rock and diamond one. And copying that particular one is just plain silly because it won on Threadless, so everyone's seen it!

This does raise an interesting topic - where is the line between inspiration and copying?
Esteban Ruiz commented on March 10, 2012 7:40am
Pretty careless! He even posts it on the same forums as the original artists.

Does society 6 have a repot button?
Polkip commented on March 13, 2012 6:45am
The molar bear one really did it for me, I love Zack Turrel's work of that piece and to see it so blaitantly ripped off in this way is sad. I had a look at his account, and his work just seems so schitzophrenic.

When you look at someone like Terry Fan's work or Kris Tates, you can tell right off from the mark it's their work, but this guy doesn't seem to have any pin point in his style or method, it really just looks like he's grabbed a load of work and ripped it off.
Lucas Scialabba :: Palitosci commented on March 31, 2012 8:56pm

Aaron Griffin commented on September 10, 2012 7:55pm
I believe that to a degree all art is based off of someone else's work but this dude is by far ripping off talented artist. The rip off of "The Daily Grind" by Jaco Haasbroek did it for me.
SECESSION commented on September 27, 2012 5:37pm
Wah Wah Wah. All Artists steal. If he was using your artwork directly you might have a case here, but ideas are not property as much as you want them to be. "Good Artists Borrow, Great Artists Steal" - Picasso
Jonah Block commented on October 20, 2012 11:50am

Seriously, this is sick. I also found this other guy
http://society6.com/DanielVasilescu
All of his works are photos stolen from the internet and tweaked in Photoshop. It shouldn't be allowed :(
RJ Artworks commented on May 2, 2014 4:55am
This is sad. The internet is full of such people. But I read somewhere the other day , "Don't worry about people copying your designs, worry about the day they stop doing so.."
