Japan earthquake 2011 no.3
by Linda Yuki Nakanishi
Fine art print on bright white, fine poly-cotton blend, matte canvas using latest generation Epson archival inks. Individually trimmed and hand stretched museum wrap over 1-1/2" deep wood stretcher bars. Includes wall hanging hardware.
This poster is the third and final in the Japan earthquake poster series. This third poster pays homage to the Fukushima 50 that volunteered their lives to stay behind to control the nuclear reactor. Each hexagonal shape in the Japanese pattern represents one of the Fukushima men. The crane flying up out of the nuclear meltdown represents honour, loyalty and longevity. Honour and loyalty, which was evident by the courage of the volunteers, and longevity as a wish for their safe return and health.
All profits from the sale of this poster will go to the Canadian Red Cross efforts for the victims affected by the recent tsunami and earthquakes.
