Edward and Bella
by Natalya Fiore
Popular culture (television, film, magazines and advertisements) distorts our society's expectations and desires when it comes to love. Viewers relate their own lives to the compelling illusions. Nonetheless, for the enlightened, an exquisite fantasy world ripe with visuals and moments worth beatifying exists within the bounds of the entertainment and advertisement industries fantastic images and fictitious stories.
My art captures these evocative moments, but distinguishes them from reality through surreal colors and quote bubbles. The scenes are carefully selected for their idyllic romanticism.
Each piece explores a variant shard of love, reminding the viewer that the image and the story it represents are unreal.
This scene was taken from Twilight.
