I am
I am
I am a Limited edition of 50 letterpress prints...
It is the first print I have pulled in what feels like way to long! But for the first time in 6 months I have ink smudges on my arms, grease under my fingernails and turps on my apron. The world is as it should be.
And I am so excited!

For those of you who don't know the first week in october 2011 I suffered a hand and arm trauma which caused severe nerve damage in my right hand.
After a 6 month hiatus I am back on the presses (As of 9.30am 6th of march 2012!).
My hand writing and carving ability is still somewhat crude (or maybe it just leaves a little room for improvement)!.
But it feels oh so good to be inky again. And my pen/knife/brush control is improving everyday.

190x130mm Hand carved in wood composite, printed 2 colour letterpress on 400gsm box board.

This print was designed and produced here in Brisbane.

Sold unframed and shipped in a handmade envelope (using upcycled print room waste) with a personalised thank you note (in pencil) on the back of your print.

Thanks Andre and Jake.
Andre that machine is absolutely one of the more friendly of my presses. he is actually one of my favourite to print on. George requires a strong leg to drive the treadle. I was printing on him today too so my legs are a bit tired! He is an old style arab press and was built between 1867 and 1869. The glimpse of a machine you can see beside George is Harvey he would be pretty familiar to the stateside printers and print makers he is a chandler and price 27'' paper cutter manufactured in cleveland ohio in 1901. He is significantly more intimidating than george - one of my girlfriends said I should use Harvey to cut off the arm and a leg I had to pay to buy him!
