Stylised Self portrait exploring my relationship with creating my art .
I was not interested in correctly depicting myself in this work but rather in depicting my thoughts and feelings about my work.
The hands are the "tools of the artist. One eye is open, inviting the viewer in, inviting a response the other is shut, effectively shutting out the world.
50cm x 60cm on stretched canvas.

Great piece, Bonnie! I read your accompanying description. I must say you hit it on the head, especially with the eyes: I can relate to the shut eye--so important to me and my pictures to be able to dive down into myself, my thoughts and especially my feelings. So often I actually do sit at my drawing table with my eyes shut to "see" the picture I want to create. Love this picture!
