Volcan-oh-no! was inspired by the air travel chaos caused by volcanic eruptions at Eyjafjallajökull (Iceland) this year. I was fascinated by the scale of the disruption, which lead to the largest air traffic shutdown since World War II.

In particular vox pops and sound bites of furious holidaymakers across Ireland and the UK, their vacations cancelled but no one to blame. The world of air travel brought to its knees by nature.

Having visited beautiful Iceland and region where the eruptions were taking place, I looked to glaciers for my palette.
