Suggests a sea where the ant tries to hold onto a plant stand. the image is very strong and is very reminiscent.

i love it!

This is awesome, Óscar! Ants are a great symbol for so many productive qualities (like teamwork)! It's a great image to serve as a reminder that even the tiny can move mountains!

Fantastic. Comforting to know it's number 1, implying there are more to come in a series. For as we all know, when you see one artificial life form in the kitchen, it's just the tip of the iceberg...

thanks everyone. Marko and Nika, I always appreciate your comments; Shelly, lovely and stunning comment!!

Thanks, Wayne, I am glad you like. Yes, yesterday I decided to start this new series with the ant, probably for the same reasons you describe in your comment.
Óscar S. Cesteros commented on April 23, 2012 10:02am
Thanks,Geoffrey, you are the master. Yes, it is a new series, less realist, more doodle, more illustration, etc...and , yes, it is the tip of the iceberg :-)

Amazing art, Óscar!!
Heather Goodwind commented on April 23, 2012 6:35pm
This is really beautiful. The form is perfect, I love the dip in the ground where it sits and the lines of your shading are impeccable.
Óscar S. Cesteros commented on April 24, 2012 12:16am
thanks very much for your kind comments. JUSTART, Deepti and Heather: in early version, ant was on green leaves, then, I decided to introduce a different texture in the bottom part (doodle style) to compose a base (ground, sea, river or water, etc..). I am glad you like these effects.

Óscar, you are living proof of the magic that can be expressed with the simplest tool.. the ball point pen!
Óscar S. Cesteros commented on April 30, 2012 1:31am
thank very much, Angelo. It is very strange because I work with computers in R &D projects ,and in the night, I use to draw these pieces with a ball-pen. It´s like Florian Schneider unplugging his machines and making his atmospheres with a flute.
Angelo Cerantola commented on April 30, 2012 2:50am
I love that comparison, Óscar! And yes, once there's talent and ideas there, it doesn't matter what medium they are expressed in, they're bound to be interesting!
Óscar S. Cesteros commented on April 30, 2012 3:53am
I agree with you, for me the important is the idea, the medium depends of idea. These drawings would be not possible with digital execution; I tried in the end of nineties to use graphic tablet, but didn´t work. Last year I tried to make Trees with 'POV-raytracing' using complex algorithms, and worked fine. You know, working with fractals and the theory of chaos. Maybe in the next months...
