DESCRIPTION

Collect your choice of gallery quality Giclée, or fine art prints custom trimmed by hand in a variety of sizes with a white border for framing.

I drew "Zombowie" in 2010 for a zombie based Halloween art show in San Francisco called "Just One Bite". Ziggy Stardust provided the perfect muse as the undead alter-ego of my favorite musician.

Based on David Bowie's iconic "Alladin Sane" album cover photographed by Brian Duffy.

I really love your style and this piece in particular! Who are some of your inspirations?
Daryll Peirce commented on June 10, 2012 2:29pm
Thanks much 723 Studios. Some classical inspirations I'd say are probably Schiele, Dali, and Toulouse-Lautrec. On a daily basis I'm mostly inspired by my peers' ambition and energy more than their work itself, whether they be painters, musicians, writers, etc. As for current working artists–Darren Waterston, Herbert Baglione, Andy Goldsworthy, Andrew Schoultz, Mel Kadel, Gregory Euclid, and Jim Darling are a handful of artists who come to mind. I'm a big enough fan that I'm sure they've influenced me on some level.

Thanks everyone for digging this here Zombowie. Didn't think it or zombie stuff in general for that matter would become so popular when I quickly drew it up 4 years ago. I've seen a lot of similar takes and variations on it pop up since then which is cool and humbling to see. Cheers!
